refeuling a distant memory
by An MSN Autos Consumer on 12/12/2006.
Trim: 2002 Honda Insight Hatchback with A/C, Owned 3 years.

Pros:
this is a great car pity they have stopped making them its more exclusive than most posh cars and will take you up and down the M4 ( 120 ) forever at 80 and still give 76.5 to the gallon. The handling is firm and on rails i have not yet found the break away point and as i also have a BMW K100rs i feel that comments about handling and speed are well qualified. I will never be able to sell this car as when im not driving it my wife is ( refeuling is a distant memory) and even my son 18 likes the novelty and economy when driving to uni. When my yongest daughter pass's her test she wants to drive it.
Cons:
not on sale anymore dont let people complain about the size you know its small and light.
Overall review:
great i need to find another i may have to import

Gas once a month
by DOWNwithOPEC on 06/12/2003.
Trim: 2002 Honda Insight Hatchback with A/C, Owned 2 years.

Pros:
It's fun to watch people's face when you tell them you're getting 65-70mpg!
Cons:
Tires are hard to find in stock except at the dealership. However, it's easy enough to get them on the internet. Only a 2-seater, which wasen't a problem when I bought it, but I've married into a wife and kids since then.
Overall review:
Pretty good little car. This is the first Honda I've owned and am pretty impressed.

Get a Toyota Prius instead
by FocusFan on 12/31/2001.
Trim: 2002 Honda Insight Hatchback with A/C, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros:
It's kinda cute. But I just can't get enough of that fuel economy! I'm getting 60 mpg and this guy with a minivan is saying "Wow, it got 25 mpg this time!" Also the front seats aren't too bad either.
Cons:
I can't get used to how there is virtually no luggage room, or how there is no rear seat. Also, I'd expect better handling from such a small car. Access and ride could be better. Pretty noisy at times too.
Overall review:
If you have no kids, never need to carry luggage, and are willing to spend $20,000 on a two-seat car with so-so handling and acceleration, this is the car for you. However, the Toyota Prius is about the same price, seats five, and still gets like 50 mpg.

Practical and futuristic
by Cherri from Phoenix on 06/29/2006.
Trim: 2002 Honda Insight Hatchback with A/C, Owned 4 years.
Useful?
Pros:
Easy to park
Easy to maneuver in small spaces
The gas mileage is amazing
Not many people in Phoenix drive this model
Cons:
Need more power for pulling out in oncoming traffic
Overall review:
Well worth having this as a commuter vehicle. Economic, I only fill up about once every 3 weeks, and with only a 10 gallon tank, it is easy on the pocketbook.
