If you're skinny, it's perfect transportation by Ryno@IL on 10/31/2003. Trim: 2002 Nissan Sentra SE-R, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros: Everything's a little better than average, but not outstanding. The car is small width-wise, but I'm 6'2" and only 160 lb., so it fits me nicely. The engine's responsive, the quality looks like typical Nissan quality. Recommended
Cons: Auto tranny a bit jumpy
Overall review: A few questions: my friend has a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT and wants to race for slips. What should I say? Will I beat it?

Nissan makes Lemons! by CL Type-S Pilot on 07/12/2003. Trim: 2002 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V, Owned 1 year.

Pros: cheap
Cons: The oil burning issues, the tranny problems, the lack of customer service, big hit in depreciation.
Overall review: Added 5 qts of oil before the 1st oil change. Nissan denied any oil consumption issues. Threw a rod @5000mi. Rebuilt engine. Bad 3rd gear synchros. Nissan replaced the whole tranny with a revamped 2003 transmission (they admit the 2002 tranny has problems, thus the redesign). Bad transmount after the dealership repaired the engine. My car was in the shop for 33 days within the first 6 months of ownership. Lemon Laws state that 30 within the 1st year qualify as a Lemon. I filed with the BBB and went to an arbitration hearing. Waste of my time...the arbitraitor made a mistake and said my car was in the shop for 12 days. Before I could file an appeal, I get hit by a Semi and break my Femor. Now Nissan wants me to pay $5000 for money I lost in deprecition on a car that was orignally a lemon. Never buy a Nissan or from United Nissan in Las Vegas.

Not fast, but it's not made to be. by Nick on 03/07/2011. Trim: 2002 Nissan Sentra GXE, Owned 1 year.

Pros: VERY good on gas, relatively inexpensive to buy/repair
Cons: Nothing I can think of
Overall review: This car is made to be a gas sipper, and does it quite well. After researching online, the 1.8L seems to have minimal problems. I have the manual transmission and have been easily getting 35 - 41 miles per gallon on average. I love this car, and it does everything I need it to.

Crimson Spec-V by Cody Alvarado on 08/12/2009. Trim: 2002 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros: handling on factory shocks & springs, torque, HP, style, interior is very comfortable, power everything. sunroof. bought the car for $6k with 31k miles. what a steal.
Cons: its not the car, its the driver. i had to take my spec into nissan for a recall which was FREE! ive had no problems with the car other than little things but i replaced them with perfromance parts. loctite butterfly screws. purchase aftermarket header
Overall review: ok for the people who are downing this car, you probably dont know anything about the QR's. (thats the first 2 letters of the engine code) -- the people who kept burning oil, theyre 2 things that could cause this. first, in the intake manifold there are 4 valves that open up around 5200 rpm's called butterfly valves. and theyre only held down by 2 screws; if one of those screws comes loose and gets sucked down into the engine, theres a possiblity that it could damage the cylinder walls increasing oil consumption. second, the pre-cat (exhaust manifold) internals could be torn apart because of how the engine runs fairly rich. that exhaust can combust inside the pre-cat and tear the insides apart which can be sucked back into the engine and score the cylinder walls. yet again increasing oil consumption. nissan wont report any of this because they call it "normal". all of this goes for the altima 2.5L as well.

Time Bandit by Missan on 01/05/2005. Trim: 2002 Nissan Sentra XE, Owned 3 years.

Pros: Fun to drive with the 5 speed, has good pickup and handles well for an economy car.
Cons: Spend so much time in the service dept i am on a first name basis with service writers kids! Has been in the shop 12 times in the past 3 months and has only travelled 400 miles in that amount of time. During that time the complete clutch system(all hydraulic components), cd player, head gasket, left front strut and steering column were replaced. This is only an exert of repairs that have been done to this car of which I have owned for 3 very long years.
Overall review: My dealer is currently working to get me out of this nightmare of a vehicle and get me into a Honda. I asked the the dealer what they are going to do to the car and he said they are going to send it to the auction, they don't want anything to do with it!
