Pros:
Good lookie car~ with Euro tail lights,Kamei Grill, body kit, intakes and all~ handling is ok~ great acceleration, interior seem just fine to me, roomy~with back seat folded.
Cons:
OK....Lets see.....i don't even know where to begin.....I thought the only 1.8T would have such a terrible stories about the engine.BUT!!!! Think again....VR6 still breaks down in every single mile...and the dealers are the worst than a car~ Problems one after one another...
Overall review:
Just believe.....what other people have written about this car....and i bet u will save tons of money from it.....but....if u want it so badly? Let your friends or someone else to buy em...and just borrow it for a ride~ ^_______^ however.....my advise to you! is
DO NOT BUY THIS VW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Classic Hot Hatch Plus
by KB6NQW on 03/02/2008.
Trim: 2002 Volkswagen GTI 337, Owned 6 years.

Pros:
The vehicle is unique. There were only 1750 of the 337s built, and only 1500 of them for the USA (the other 250 were delivered to Canada). The vehicle is quite quick, and with the small modification of the APR 91 Octane chip program, it is even quicker. The larger brakes, lower suspension and the completely different interior from the standard GTi, makes the automobile a refreshing change from the ordinary "Hot Hatch". Even with the reprogramming of the ECU, the vehicle exceeds 33mpg on long cruse trips.
Cons:
No Heated front seats, and I had to purchase the OEM HID Headlights off shore. They should have been included in the vehicle from VW as they were on the European version of the 337, in fact the vehicle could have been exactly like the European version and I would have been completely happy without adding anything to the car.
Overall review:
This vehicle is the ultimate GTi right out of the box. Really nothing needs to be done to it to make it better. The additions that I made were just "frosting on the cake".

GTI 337 Edition - Hot Hatch for the Discerning Driver
by VWTornado on 06/18/2007.
Trim: 2002 Volkswagen GTI 337, Owned 2 years.

Pros:
Great styling, interior is second to none compared to any car in its class and performace is great.
Cons:
Not the most reliable car in its class (Honda or Toyota being better for reliability), also parts and service are expensive and not always the highest quality around. You feel like you are paying the price for the German engineering but you get treated like you own a Hyundai at dealerships.
Overall review:
I absolutely love this car in terms of styling, handling and performance, not to mention I get 30mpg on average but the car has cost me a good amount in maintenance over the couple years I've had it. Owning a VW is a love/hate relationship, you love the car, but you hate what it does to you (or your wallet) every so often.
