5 Series Alternative by Cam - Northern VA on 11/14/2002. Trim: 2002 Audi A6 3.0 Quattro, Owned less than 1 year.
1
Pros: It has a large and luxurious interior (great for hauling co-workers or elderly relatives). It handles beautifully especially in wet/rainy weather. QUATTRO makes all the difference. The options are few since it is stocked to boot; the 8 speaker standard sound system is EXCELLENT. Lease deal got me in at $419 for 15K miles per year.
Cons: The 3.0 provides poor low end acceleration/torque; I often drive in the SPORT Mode (higher rev point before auto transmission shifts). The cup holders are terrible! 17" Tires should be standard along w/ radio steering wheel controls.
Overall review: I have owned this car for about 5 months and my complaints are minor. I will buy another with a better power-weight-ratio. My goal is the RS6 ;-)

A6 = Goodness by Eric from Los Angeles, CA on 07/15/2002. Trim: 2002 Audi A6 3.0 Multitronic, Owned less than 1 year.
1
Pros: Drives very smooth. All the horsepower I could ever use. It has great passing capability on the freeway. The CVT transmission is outstanding. Great acceleration but still gets good gas mileage. The multitronic sport shift function is much more responsive than any other car I drove with the same option (likely because there are no gears and its all done by computer).
Cons: The highly "recommend" that you use 91 octane gas. The temperature controls are a hassle to get at. While dual climate zones sound cool on paper, it is just requires you to set the temperature twice.
Overall review: I've only put 5000 miles on the car, but to date it has performed above my expectations.
