Good ride. by Corey from Pensacola on 07/20/2008. Trim: 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS, Owned 6 years.
Pros: Good styling. The generation 6 Monte Carlo has an "old style" look about it. Excellent engine package on the SS with the 3.8L L36 (very strong internals) and performance. Great handling. Good quality audio system. Great placement of audio and environmental controls. Low road noise. Roomy interior for a 2door coupe. Good fuel economy
Cons: Excessive creaking and popping in the steering. Occasional re-occurring problem with the WSS (wheel speed sensor) wiring that disables ABS and Traction control. Quality of interior panels that often rattles. Front wheel drive.
Overall review: Overall this year/model is quite worth the money spent. Other then a few minor quirks, this car has been very reliable and dependable with a great amount of sleek styling. It also gives one a good amount of performance while not killing the wallet at the gas pump. Many great safety features. I would recommend it to anyone looking to purchase one.

Great Car by ChevyFan from Boston on 12/22/2008. Trim: 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS, Owned 6 years.
Pros: Fabulous color - Competition Yellow. Comfort ride, easy handling. Also, even after 6 years, still a head turner. In today's car world of grey/silver, this car is a visual knock-out.
Cons: NOTHING! Love every inch of it.
Overall review: Best car I've ever owned. Anyone who thinks there are no decent domestic cars has never owned a Monte.

Fun has never been so afforable by Greg, Chicago on 12/22/2008. Trim: 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo LS, Owned 3 years.
Pros: I bought this car used from a dealership I worked at in 2005 and I would not trade in my monte carlo for anything else! great handling, sporty styling, not to mention just enough power under the hood to put a smile on your face all at a decent price!
Cons: The monet carlo has some issues that chevrolet has tried succesfully to resolve: The steering colum has bearing issues(same as the impala) that can be repaired under warranty, the intake manirfold will need possible gasket replacement(also covered under warranty), warping of the front brake rotors from excesive hard braking(and some times under regular braking) that is not under warranty. other than that its a great car!
Overall review: The Monet Carlo is a nice sporty affordable vehicle. If you treat it well(regular oil changes, rotating the tires, keeping it clean etc etc) it will last you a life time! my monte is at almost at 90,000 miles and is still going strong and i hope to still own it at 190,000!
