Trim: 2002 Dodge Caravan SE, Owned 3 years.

Pros:
The style and appearance is easy on the eyes. A fairly comfortable ride.
Cons:
Not as reliable as advertised. The first year with the vehicle was fine. The transmission failed at 20,000 miles. The shocks had to be replaced at 40,000 miles. There is a rattling noise by the front tire and I have been informed that I might want to take it back in to have the transmission reassessed again. It's not downshifting when it's supposed to. The transmission was replaced with a rebuilt transmission at 20,000 miles. I will never buy another vehicle from Dodge/Chrysler again and urge to potential buyers-"Buyer Beware"
Overall review:
Nice looking but Problematic. Will nickle and dime you to death.

Not happy with my Caravan
by Tom North Andover, MA on 11/25/2003.
Trim: 2002 Dodge Caravan Grand Sport, Owned 1 year.
1
Pros:
I really have none
Cons:
Since day one this van has been nothing but trouble.
The engine block was replaced (cam shaft bearing went a 2000 miles)
Its full of rattles. Power sliding right door is chipping paint is moves so much.
The front-end sounds like the wheels are about to fall off when you go over bumps.
Brakes are terrible
No resale value!
Overall review:
I would not recommend this vehicle to anyone.
Dodge customer service is also lacking. I had to fight to get a rental car why my (brand new) van was in getting the engine block replaced.
In the past month I have attempted to trade in my van in for a new vehicle, forget it I can’t get more than 11,500 for it (this is a 18 month old loaded Grand Caravan Sport that listed out for $30000 new).
Stay away from it unless of course you plan on keeping it for 10 years.

A Consumer Reports Black Eye
by Minivaner from Nova Scotia on 11/15/2003.
Trim: 2002 Dodge Caravan Grand Sport, Owned 1 year.

Pros:
Everything is great.
Many Dodge minivans are made in Canada for which I am proud, they are used extensively in the taxi business here as well, have excellent insurance rates {compatively speaking among minivans and other vehicles according to a recent survey done in Chicago} and stand up to our servere winter conditions - still some late 1980s models alive and kicking.
Cons:
The ratings that Consumer Reports give the Dodge Caravan considering CR is supposed to be a "qualiy" publication. Giving top marks to vehicles (of Japanese origin of course) that (1) have the longest stopping distances in the group and (2) are considered "agile for their size" when neither are the biggest or heaviest in the group, tells me that Dodge, and other Manufacturers, need to challenge a seemingly "arrogant" CR's method of reporting as a "quality of reporting", comparing "apples to apples", issue.
Hats off to MSN for some real world feedback, that is well organized and User friendly.
Overall review:
Purchased vehicle from Thrifty Rent-a-Car in October 2002 with Touring Package, power sliding door, and 38000 kms on the odometer. Now have 79000 kms on the odometer. Still has original tires and ABS Disk brakes.
Excellent styling - a 10/10 for minivans, next closest would be a distant 8/10. Handles great, upgraded interior with overhead computer is great, handling is great, performed great on ski trip in April with 4 adults and lots of luggage. It is a beautiful machine and even more so in stone white (mine) or bright red. A "class act" for sure.
Replacement of "sway bar bushings" and "power steering fluid cooler" under warranty were minor annoyances that took away from the otherwise perfect scenerio.
Routine maintenance has been basically oil changes, non of that take the brakes apart, clean the components, and reassemble that I have experienced with an Acura, to help build up the reliability ratings, at the customer's expense.
