Even better for 2002 by Clair from Grass Valley, CA on 11/01/2001. Trim: 2002 Oldsmobile Aurora 4.0L Sedan, Owned less than 1 year.
Pros: Power train, the 4.0L V8 & 4T80E transmission make a smooth combo and revive the "rocket" in Oldsmobile. the 2002 seems more powerful than the 2001 (I have owned both) and is rated 1 MPG better in both city & highway driving. The navigation system is a great addition for 2002. LATCH anchors in all 3 rear seat positions. Beautiful car & 5yr/60k warranty.
Cons: Can't get the Bose sound with the navigation radio. Like most sedans (except very large & expensive ones), the middle rear seat is for kids or short trips only.
Overall review: When a deal came up that allowed me to trade my 2001 Aurora V8 for a 2002 with the navigation radio (instead of the Bose sound system), keep the same payment (with no out of pocket cash), and get the 5 year warranty, I just couldn't pass it up. When I discovered that the performance is even better for 2002 (though no published difference) I was even happier. I think that refinements to the computer programs have improved low-end perfornmance without changing the peak numbers (the gas mileage improvement points to this also). Build quality is excellent. Some minor improvements over 2001 models.

Olds Aurora 2002 by An MSN Autos Consumer on 12/21/2007. Trim: 2002 Oldsmobile Aurora 3.5L Sedan, Owned 1 year.
Pros: I bought this vehicle used with 93,000 miles on it. Aside from a few nicks and dings the car has performed perfectly. The car is very spacious and rides very softly. It has ample passing power. Too bad GM couldn't have saved this one. It would have made a decent step down from the Caddy with the right tweaks and body molding.
Cons: The service engine light recently came on due to the catalytic convertor indicators needing to be replaced. (60 bucks and usually occurs automatically at 100,000 miles)
Overall review: Great car for the money. Nice interior and good power. I would reccomend this car if you want a dependable, safe, used car under 10,000.00

Great car from GM by Retiree from New England on 09/05/2007. Trim: 2002 Oldsmobile Aurora 3.5L Sedan, Owned 4 years.
Pros: Good solid ride, plenty of room and comfort. Good economy for a full sized car. 19/29 mpg
Cons: not much, trunk has a small rattle
Overall review: Bought used with 10,000 miles in 2003, now 4 years later has 65000 and still runs like new. No serious problems and still on the same tires. I wish GM was still making them.
