Pros: It's comfortable, it's GPS compatible, there's an consumption and energy moniter screen, and best of all,it's enviorment-friendly because it's hybrid-electric.
Cons: nothing

Ready to go by J one on 08/09/2002. Trim: 2002 Toyota Prius 4-Door Sedan, Owned less than 1 year.

Pros: $$$. Not the most economical car on the market, but packed with technology and perfomance it ... {DELIVERS}. Yes, nothing but smiles here, and whoa's from people who ride in it. Nav. sys is simple, but amazing as it talks to you. Silent electric motor has people going uhn't uhn it can't be. Free sched. maint. free roadside assistance, with up to $2000. back on taxes. (Smile with Ecstasy).
Cons: Have driven around the city, making short trips that amounted to more than 200 miles in a day, and felt like (hey you ready to go some more?). Never felt this way about other new cars..,but then this is a new kind of car. Too much of a rapturous delight. May have to squeeze at sales people for free benefits offered by Toyota such as I mentioned above, because my sales rep said it wasn't posible for them to give free oil changes and services as we found out differently later. I only found out by reading post review like this one. Still would like more info on the Tax refund, being this is my first year. Please post. Thanks for your help.
Overall review: With the main points of this car having the 1 speed transmission, it makes a new ball game of acceleration speed. Granted it is not a Porsche, but passing speeds have always been more than adequate for pratical purpose. With the mix of the 44hp electric and no gasp tranny it can leave many cars behind on a burst at speeds even going 70 and above. I don't press it because too much speed is wrong for any car. But it's there, and with the great gas MPG.. :> smile ecstasy. After having owning for 6 months I first thought it was wrong for Uncle Sam to make tax breaks on this car being that it's foreign, but the air we breath and live by is for everyone. Way to go U.S... :> smile ecstasy. Remember always Thanks to God from who all blessings flow. :>

I am so disappointed by terri k on 06/12/2013. Trim: 2002 Toyota Prius, Owned more than 10 years.

Pros: I loved this car the up keep at times is overpriced.......the hybrid battery in the back can only be bought from dealer and costs. $2800.00.TThey never tell u that...and for the ammount of gas u save its not worth it ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡
Cons: Very expensive up keep.....he front end battery when I replaced it last year was $181.00. If I bought it today it would 279.00.....and around 90,000 miles the battery in back seat just stopped working out of the blue and it costs $3, 000.00 to replace....the value on the car isn't even that much.....
Overall review: Better on gas.....

The Good Ole Prius by Scribewvb on 12/01/2008. Trim: 2002 Toyota Prius 4-Door Sedan, Owned 2 years.

Pros: The 40- to 45-mph gas mileage is the most significant asset. It is also relatively roomy for backseat passengers. Now pushing the 88,000 miles odometer mark without any significant degradation in overall performance really impresses me for the ability of the master battery system to remain so effective this long.
Cons: The volume of the generating system in this early model becomes very loud at higher speeds, so much so that passengers must speak louder and the radio needs to be turned up to hear it. Also, my model came with only a tape casette player as standard, no dvd or cd in the dashboard below the touchscreen display.
Overall review: I can put up with the relatively minor drawbacks, especially considering the continued high gas mileage after so many miles driven.

Worth more$$ after 4 yrs! by An MSN Autos Consumer on 01/05/2008. Trim: 2002 Toyota Prius 4-Door Sedan, Owned 5 years.

Pros: Quiet Economy; and the Carpool Lane sticker
Cons: Slow pickup power on hills; Visibility over right shoulder somewhat blocked
Overall review: With carpool sticker it's worth more now than when bought 'used' in 2003. Consumption screen teaches how to not to be a lead-foot on the gas pedal. Surprising comfort for at least 4 big people and their stuff.
