| Pros: |
| I really enjoy this car. It handles like a pro, and looks pretty good too. The syles haven't changed much from the early 90s Jettas like mine to the new ones so the car doesn't seem too dated. It's comfortable and very easy to drive; plus the car has never let me down. I'd suggest it to anyone looking at a car of it's age. |

| The only thing that I dont like as much about this car is that to keep it looking new, you have to put some plastic/vinyl protectant on the black plastic bumpers and all of the black plastic trim. It's a tedious task but well worth it as the bumpers come back to looking new and you are left with a very nice looking Jetta. |

| This is an excellent car, especially for it's age. Buying used Hondas is overrated, my Jetta has been the best that I could have ever asked for. It drives very well, looks very nice, and has never stranded me on the side of the road. |

| This car has had zero problems. I purchased it two years ago w/ all service records. The paint shines like new, it leaks NO oil/uses abosolutely NO oil, has NO water leaks, NO rust, NO interior/exterior/engine quality issues. It's never let me down for a second- and luckily the timing belts don't bend the valves when they break because the previous owner failed to mention that they were 26K past the time to replace the belt. The paint, rust, and oil are more than I can say for Honda's, Ford's, and Toyota's of this age I've known. Great car!!! |

| There are only a few problems with this car. The GL is the base model, so it lacks power windows, power locks, and power mirrors. It could use 115hp instead of 100hp, and the automatic could use an overdrive gear for fuel economy. My suddgestion is go for the Jetta Carat or the Jetta GLI - these will fix the problems. |

| My overall review is that the Jetta is the best selling European car in America for a reason- it's awesome. It looks great compaired to competitors of it's age. It runs excessively well, even with it's age. It's never broken down, never needed any repairs. It looks like new, something that Honda can't do. If you are looking for a reliable early-90's car, I highly recommend the Volkswagen Jetta. |
