Pros:
Pretty good on gas (22mpgs), a good solid vehicle. This is my second es and I love it just as much as the first.
Cons:
Just like many others, the transmission is a little shaky and could use more power.
Overall Review:
Overall, this is a great car. I was looking for an avalon but I got the lexus with 29000 miles on it for much less than I found many used avalons. I think I made a great purchase. the first was traded on a sequoia as a gift for my wife. It had high miles but was in excellent condition. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone. And the dealership in Alexandria and Chantilly VA have both been superb.

Pros:
It runs like warm butter spreads. I can especially feel the difference after i have been driving my 91 toyota pickup w/o power steering. Its still an excellent truck, but the lex feels like a warm bath. The v6 3.3L engine responds nicely when i need it to. Its also a luxury car that runs very well on regular gas. Im a die hard toyota/lexus fan. But if i ever went German, I would go with BMW. In dash 6 cd changer, cassette hookup???? It comes in handy though for a clear connection from my ipod. I also love the automatic headlight and wiper sensors features. the wipers adjust their speed and come on automatically. The windshield repels the rain nicely.
Cons:
The fact that it does not have stereo controls on the steering wheel, as well as the fact that it does not come with an ipod hookup standard.
Overall Review:
Other than the cons i have, i would not hesitate to buy this car again, especially at the excellent price i got it for.

Pros:
Suprising Gas Mileage ( 30-31 highway)...acceleration for a V6....quietness....regular gas
Cons:
handling is a little soft.......exhaust pipe is a single and hangs down lower than needs to be. No radio controls on steering......
Overall Review:
I remedied the lag in the acceleration by having the dealer perform the Service Bulletin on the transmision. You have to request it, but it is free. As the car learns how you drive , I immeadiately drove the car as I wanted it to operate( kinda hard and fast) right after the "reflashing" of the transmission software. I also added a K&N air filtration. It also helped to smooth things out. I have no hesitaion off the line anymore and only slight sort of a "turbo " like lag between 60 - 80 mph. Much like a 4 barrell carb opening up...I've read the complaints in the reviews and think that maybe they are a litle unfair as the rest of the car is really nice for the price. I had BMW and Mercedes and although both a real nice , they are high maintenance

Pros:
The traction control is great. 225-horsepower 3.3-liter V6 engine gives you nice pickup for a luxury sedan. Low cabin noise and very comfortable interior. Very relyable, low maintenance.
Cons:
The transmission shifting could be smoother. Blew out an amplifier but it was replaced promptly under warranty by the dealer. It would be nice to have accessories controls on the steering wheel.
Overall Review:
This car is smooth and quite, very nice ride and handling, actually the best car I have ever owned, seems to get better with age. Dependable transportation that holds it's value, with timeless styling, a very good looking sedan. I was surprised with the over all quality and how it has held it's value.

Pros:
High quality materials; impeccable finish, inside and out; quiet, smooth ride; many useful accessories; an overall air of understated elegance.
Cons:
As others have noted, transmission response leaves something to be desired. It can sometimes be hesitant and unpredictable. However, as Lexus claims, it does appear to be "learning" the way I drive and seems to be consistently improving. In any case, this is for me a relatively minor issue, given the car's many other fine qualities.
Overall Review:
An excellent automobile, probably the best car I've ever owned. I'm looking forward to many years of luxurious, trouble-free driving. I'd buy it again in a minute. This is a lot of car for the money.

Overall Review:
This car is an overall excellent performer for the money. I've owned many different cars (mainly European) in many different countries, in many different continents and I can truely say that this car handles and performs really well. I've owned Mercedes, Audi's, VW's but none compare to the overall package that the ES330 gives you, in fact all those cars loved to frequent the service dealer and they make you pay more to purchase the vehicle in the first place. German quality is a legend of the past. The Japanese know how to make quality, trouble free cars, which is what all of us really want. True, German cars handle slightly better but that's when you are exceeding the speed limit. Remember these cars were built for the Autobahn not the USA. I exclude BMW from this pack but compare the price of a similarly equipped 530i, it costs twice as much. Is it really worth it??? Open and close the front doors on a E-Class and compare. You might be surprised which doors are heavier!!

Pros:
Decent styling, quality finish. 3.3L V6 has good acceleration, although not the best. Excellent car for road trips. 6 CD in dash is nice, as are a lot of the "nice to have" things -- leather seats have memory and are heated, heated mirror defroster.
Cons:
Automatic Transmission is horrible -- not smooth, excessive hesitation. Some squeaks and rattles that should not be in a car of this quality. Overall "Lexus Experience" has been disappointing after all of the hype and recommendations from friends.
Overall Review:
This car isn't excellent at anything, but it's overall better than most. I can't say I'd recommend it, but it's a good car overall.

Pros:
I love my 2004 Lexus ES330 very much. It is a very comfortable, luxurious, shining (with the gold color), and great car with many nice built-in features. I live in a gated community. With Lexus, I can program the gate opener code into my car and don't need to carry a gate transmitter.
Cons:
The gas mileage is just average (about 20 MPG). The acceleration seems to be somewhat slow.
Overall Review:
Lexus ES330 is much better than Toyota Avalon XLS in every aspect. My advice to any potential buyer is to bargain hard with the car dealer and you can cut down $3,500 to $4,000 from the MSRP (the window price). Certainly, you are able to own a brand new Lexus ES330 without paying the outrageous price. MSN Auto can help you find out the factory invoice price vs. MSRP, before you bargain with the car dealer.

Pros:
Nice smooth, comfortable ride. A sharp looking car. Good sound system.
Cons:
After owning GM luxury cars for past ten years, I was disappointed that the radio control buttons are not on the steering wheel. The Lexus ES330 was a little bit smaller than I had anticipated. I am a tall person and can't really find the right position in the seat where I can rest my arm on the arm rest or window sill comfortably. Gas mileage was a little less than I had expected.
Overall Review:
Overall a good car. I also looked at the Cadillac CTS and Lincoln LS, but both were rear wheel drive. I bought the Lexus ES330 because it is a front wheel drive car. A good value for the money and with a few refinements, this would be a great car for the money. I love the styling and would recommend it to anyone looking for a new car.

Cons:
Roof-mounted switches should be illuminated. I've opened sunroof when looking for garage door opener. Radio and temp displays are unreadable with sunglasses on. Trunk light is weak and should have been mounted on lid - it gets blocked by items in trunk. transmission sometimes is not smooth as others have noted. Windows are difficult to control on the way down. Radio controls on steering wheel would have been nice. Paint seems to scratch easily.
Overall Review:
Overall, an excellent car. the smooth ride and quietness more than compensates for some of the minor issues noted above. I just drove from Niagara Falls to Boston and can say that I almost enjoyed the drive because it was so smooth and quiet. Instead of the built-in GPS, I do suggest a third party GPS system that you can bean bag mount on the dash, pre-program on your PC and move from car to car for a lot less money.

Pros:
The car runs so smoothly that it makes you feel like you are gliding on the land. The fit and finish is second to none. The engine torque and output is not comparable to the more expensive German counterparts, but adquate. Gear Shifting is noticeable but bearable. I was a hard core Honda/Acura fan until I test drove this car. The driving feel is totally different from that of Honda's it is more like new BMW's without superb handling.
Cons:
The engine needs more power but the gas mileage is great
Overall Review:
Unless you emphasize on handling and manuevability of the vehicle, this is one of the best overall cars on the road. The navigation system with Mark Levinson system makes the price become stiffer fast, but every penny is worth it. Instead, pass the chrome wheels, it is waste of money. You won't regret it to have this car and drive it for a long time.

Pros:
Incredibly smooth, quiet ride. I constantly have to look at the tach to remind myself it is still running. I test drove the Accord first, and while I liked some of the styling features better, the Lexus blew it away for accelerating into freeway traffic.
Cons:
The cup holders are the worst feature on the car, and for $2 and a trip to WalMart, I solved that problem. While the transmission is not my favorite, I've never had any acceleration or other problems with it. Sometimes a driver just needs to adapt to something different.
Overall Review:
I question the reviews stating the superiority of the Accord because not one of them gives pros/cons about the Lexus. I question whether any of them even own this car. The pros of this car far outline the cons and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a smooth ride, luxuriously comfortable interior, quick acceleration, and a dependable vehicle. But be sure to look at the tach before you restart your car, as you may find it is still running.

Attractive; classy; not a distinctive look though. Ride is nice, interior is excellent.
Cons:
Transmission is not very good; there is a hesitation when you press on the accelerator which can be dangerous when you're trying to pull out into traffic. It is jerky when you press the gas at low speeds. Lexus says this is just the way the new 5 speed transmission is, and they have had a lot of complaints, but they aren't doing anything about it right now.

I am a 2-time owner of a Lexus and our '96 Lexus ES performed better than this one. I would not have bought it had I known about the faulty transmission/acceleration. Too bad, because otherwise it is a great car...

There has been a minor annoying speaker vibration/reverb from the door speakers and only at low bass levels. After my 2002 ES I thought I'd try something different, but couldn't find anything close to the price of the ES-330 that had anything like a similar balance of (for me) desirable attributes. If you value refinement, elegance, understated power, and sympathetic concern at the dealership (Sewell in Dallas, TX) regarding all your obsessive idiosynchrocies above the ability to scream around corners at hair raising speeds or extremely low 0-60 times you need look no further. My main regret is that I currently can't afford a new LS-430 now that I'm old enough (45) to not look too ridiculous in a larger luxury car. Pros:
First time Lexus owner. Very pleased with the vehicle. Performance and power is good. Bought the ES330 instead of the Volvo.
Cons:
The purchase experience at the Lexus dealer left something to be desired. The first 1000 mile check up, with a free executive detailing, was a waste of my time - I had to clean the car myself. THe vehicle is fine - no cons along these lines.
Overall Review:
Wanted the Volvo; after a comparison settled on the ES330 for styling and overall quality. Very worth looking at - the dealer attempts to provide high grade service - take it with a grain of salt.

Pros:

Cons:
Tthe drivers seat was very uncomfortable, stering very vague, car was sluggish, TRANSMISSON DIDN'T RESPOND WHEN PUT INTO PASSING GEAR, 1ST GEAR OF TRANSMISSION WAS VERY SLUSHEY, WHEN IN SLOW TRAFFIC ON FREEWAY TRANSMISSON SHIFTS ERRACTICALLAY. WHEN I TEST DROVE THE CAR I DIDN'T PICK UP ON THESE PROBLEMS. TEST DRIVE A CAR MORE THAN ONCE AND FOR A LONG PERIOD OF TIME. TAKING CAR AROUND THE CORNER DOSN'T WORK.
Overall Review:
OWNED 03 CAMARY XLE AND THOUGHT STEPPING UP TO A LEXUS WAS THE RIGHT THING TO DO. THE ES 330 WAS THE MOST UNCOMFORTABLE CAR I HAVE EVER DRIVEN. THE LEATHER BURNED MY THIGHS AND EACH TIME I ADJUSTED THE SEAT IT GOT WORSE. I THOUGHT WITH THE NEW ENGINE IT WOULD BE MORE RESPONSIVE THAN THE ES 300 AND THE 03 CAMARY XLE 6 IT WAS NOT!!!! I WENT BACK TO THE LEXUS DEALER AND TOLD THEM ABOUT THE SEAT AND ASKED THEM IF ANY THING COULD BE DONE, THEY SAID TO TRY A PADDED PAD FOR THE SEAT. I TRADED THE CAR OFF IN 24 DAYS WITH 818 MILES AND BOUGHT A MERCEDES E-320 AND I LOVE IT.

Pros:
Solid and substantial comfort. Quiet even with new more powerful engine. Smoothest ride I've ever owned. The seats are extremely comfortable even on a long drive. Love the downshift feature with the automatic transmission. Accelerates great.
Cons:
Wish I'd opted for the xenon lights.
Overall Review:
This car drives like a million dollars. The ride is smooth, the seating is comfortable even in the rear seats. The overall feeling is one of substance and comfort. The finishing details are top quality, wood trim, comfortable leather seats. Sound system is great, and with the quiet interior you can really appreciate it. I love this car and I haven't loved a car since my 83 280zx.

Pros:
Smooth ride (Smooth enough to allow me to comfortably read in the car), good price for an upscale sedan, excellent fuel economy, nice interior, build quality.
Cons:
Styling is too sleek to me, list of luxury features not as long as its Lincoln LS competitor, transmission shifting is not a strength.
Overall Review:
We bought this sedan from our local Lexus dealer for being something more fuel efficient and more comfortable than our Sequoia (Which we almost traded in for a Navigator), and I overall like it a lot more. I would have at least considered another Lexus (My favorite is the IS300), but the better fuel economy was worth it. We will definitely own our Lexus for a long time.

Cons:
Same toyota assembly line parts that they use in all their vehciles. Exterior styilng is a bit strange.
Overall Review:
Well, I have to give Lexus credit for actually creating their own design this time around instead of employing espionage to copy Merc designs. However, upon wading out into the water without floaters they got a little over their heads, and designed something less than eye catching.

I just got rear-ended by a vehicle traveling 50 mph while I was stopped, and driven in to the vehicle in front of me which was also stopped. The damage to my car was nothing compared to the damage to the 2000 Chrysler that hit me. This frame on this my Lexus is unbelievable!!

No cons-this car saved my life!!

I was tempted to purchase a Toyota Camry but wanted a little more luxury. The ES300 is great for me because it offers a fairly cheap and reliable way to cart kids around with that added touch of class. However, this car is no street racer!

Pros:
The handling is very good. The 225 hp engine accelerates very well. The stereo has a very good sound. The seats are very comfortable. The dual climate controls come in handy for different people's preferences. Good gas mileage for a heavier car.
Cons:
The back seat is not comfortable for three people.
Overall Review:
This is a very nice car. The car handles well and is very quiet. We have the 04 version and have not experienced the accleration problem that some have mentioned. I love the styling of the front headlamps. This is our first Lexus and we have no complaints. The service dept. in Dallas Tx. is first rate. I would recommend this car to anyone in the market for a high quality car at a good price.

This is an update.i have now had the car 5 months. My opion of the car has improved. The xeon headlights, auto windshield washer, auto diming rearview mirror and the traction control makes this car a pure pleasure to drive, day or night/sunlight or downpour. It's attractive inside without attracing a lot of attention from the outside(in some circumstances that can be a positive).More in 2-3 months.
Cons:
Coat Hooks are impractical and two small.
Overall Review:
Love it more now than I did 5 months ago.
