Mercury Overview

The Mercury Story
The first Mercury automobile was designed by the Ford Styling Studio in 1937. But the Lincoln-Mercury division of the Ford Motor Co. wasn’t established until eight years later. At the time, Mercury bridged the gap between the value-priced Fords and the luxury Lincoln models, and continues to do so today. Current models, however, are simply rebadged Fords. In the future, expect Mercury’s vehicle lineup to consist mostly of compact and midsize models.
