A relative newcomer, Hyundai is known today for making feature-rich cars at affordable prices. It also has one of the best warranties in the business. The first Hyundai passenger car, the Pony, was introduced in 1976. Hyundai didn’t enter the U.S. market until 1986 with the Excel, which got the company off to a rocky start due to reliability issues. Since then, this South Korean automaker has matured from a niche brand making economy cars to one with a wide lineup that includes cars, crossovers and SUVs. The recent introductions of the Genesis sedan and coupe offerings have also signaled a move upmarket.
